Original Winchester .351 Self-Loading (WSL / .351 SL) 180 grain soft point ammunition box. This historic cartridge powered the Winchester Model 1907 and 1910 semi-automatic rifles, which were issued to many early 20th-century law enforcement agencies.
Public records and collector documentation indicate the Nebraska State Patrol used Winchester .351 SL rifles and ammunition from the 1920s into the late 1950s/early 1960s as a standard patrol rifle.
These rifles offered semi-automatic firepower and better range than contemporary handguns or lever-actions, making them well-suited for highway patrol and rural law enforcement duties during that era.
