More Info:
Original 1953 Lake City Army Ammunition Plant .30-06 Springfield Armor Piercing Incendiary (API) cartridge with distinctive gray tip and red primer seal. Lake City produced limited quantities of specialized .30-06 loads in the early Cold War period, including the M14 API round designed to penetrate armor while igniting flammable targets. Surviving original 1953-dated examples with intact tip coloring are scarce and highly sought after by military cartridge collectors.
