This original 20-round box of Remington Kleanbore Hi-Speed .250 Savage ammunition is loaded with 87-grain soft-point bullets and non-corrosive Kleanbore priming. The .250 Savage (originally marketed as the .250-3000) was introduced by Savage in 1914 to designs by Charles Newton and became famous as the first commercial cartridge to achieve a muzzle velocity of 3,000 feet per second with an 87-grain bullet, chambered primarily in the iconic Savage Model 99 lever-action. Produced during the DuPont ownership era of Remington (controlling interest acquired in the 1930s), this mid-century green-and-red packaging with Hi-Speed branding and oilproof process is a desirable collector item for owners of Savage 99s, Winchester Models 54/70, and enthusiasts of classic American sporting ammunition.
