The M855a1 has much greater penetrating ability out to farther distances than your standard 5.56 FMJ, and your standard M855 Green Tip. Subsequently, this also makes it much harder to get your hands on, especially in original factory specifications. These projectiles are NOT easy to get a hold of. When these sell out, there is no guarentee of replacement.
